Modern and Convenient

Range Medical High Street is a medical centre designed by architects experienced in the needs of a modern medical practice.  We have wheelchair and ambulance access.  Other facilities at our centre include a children’s play area, baby change area and toilets.

You're in Great Hands

We have eight consulting rooms, three procedure rooms and a room to lie down if you’re feeling unwell.  The centre has toilets and car parking for the disabled.  Our practice accommodates eight full-time General Practitioners all vocationally registered.

Efficient and Compliant

Our practice is fully computerised and we are accredited.  Accreditation means that this general practice has met standards of quality in the facilities and services it provides by the medical profession standards.  The doctors and staff have made a commitment to continue to improve quality.

Our Practice Philosophy

The philosophy of this practice is to provide comprehensive and thoughtful medical care to families in a friendly, relaxed atmosphere. We work hard to keep up-to-date with the latest medical innovations and to bring you efficient, personal service.

Home Visits and Telephone Access

Home visits are available for regular patients whose condition prevents them from attending the surgery. Although most problems are best dealt with in consultation, a doctor will always be available during normal surgery hours for emergency advice. Our staff are experienced in helping you decide whether the matter requires an appointment, a return phone call from the practice, or urgent advice.

Services Available

Services include: home visits, check-ups, family planning, pap smears, pregnancy tests, skin checks, ECG: heart check, counselling, vaccination (children, adult and travel), minor surgery, repair of wounds, removal of moles and sunspots, liquid nitrogen freezing therapy for sunspots and warts, nutritional advice, industrial medical advice and consultation, sports medicine and acupuncture.

Repeat Prescriptions

Most prescriptions provide sufficient medication to last until your condition needs reviewing. Repeat prescriptions are therefore only given during a consultation when the doctor is able to determine your need for continued medication. However if circumstances prevent you from coming into see Doctor please discuss your situation with our receptionist so that you don’t run out of your medication.

Fees and Billing Arrangements

Fees are payable at the time of consultation by eftpos facilities. We base our fee structure and billing policy from the AMA Fee Structure and we displayed this in reception. Government have unfortunately failed to increase Medicare rebates regularly. The rebates have not kept up with the cost of running a practice committed to providing quality health care. To ensure we continue to provide you with high quality healthcare and cover our operational costs, we are no longer able to offer bulk billing to our patients. We will however continue to bulk bill children under sixteen for standard consultations only. We thank you for your understanding in this and for your ongoing support.

Reminder System

Our practice is committed to preventive care. We may telephone or issue you with a reminder notice from time to time offering you preventive health services appropriate to your care. If you do not wish to be part of this system please let us know at reception.

Medical Records

Your medical record is a confidential document. It is the policy of this practice to maintain security of personal health information at all times and to ensure that this information is only available to authorised members of staff.

Your Rights

If you have a problem we would like to hear about it. Please feel free to talk to your doctor or the practice manager. You may prefer to write to us. We take your concerns, suggestions and complaints seriously. Your rights prefer to contact Queensland Office of The Health Ombudsman PO Box 13281 George St Brisbane Qld 4000 Ph: 133646

Afterhours

The phone number for the on duty doctor is placed on our answering machine daily. Ring 46134500 and listen for the message.

Results

We have a recall system to follow up on abnormal results. We do however ask that if you have any tests done that you ring the practice and make an appointment to discuss your results.

Appointments

Please phone 46 134500 for an appointment. Every effort will be made to accommodate your preferred time. Emergencies will always be given priority and our reception staff will attempt to contact you if there is any unforeseen delays. Our appointments are made at 10 minute intervals. If you want an insurance medical, review of a complex health problem, counselling for emotional difficulties, or a second opinion about someone else’s management you will need to make an appointment for a longer consultation.
